Book Asignment

For our grading period we had to assignments. Our first was a class assignment were we had to create a page about ourselves for a class book. Our next assignment was to create a small book about ourselves.
For the first assignment making a page it was fun. I liked how my page turned out overall. I made my pages plain and simple because that's me. It was sort off hard figuring out what i wanted to do with my page, but eventually i got it. I especially love the page when it spreads out because it looks really formal and the font adds a historical mood to it.
As for the second assignment making our own book it was fun to. I really liked how my book came out, especially the cover because i use scraps of paper and wrinkled them and made it the cover and then i put my initials in a pretty font on teh middle. I made my book have a page where it's vintage because i like old looking stuff. I also put pictures if the things i loved on it. The only thing i don't like about the book is the fact that when i transferred images some of the ink smudge the other side. It would have a nice effect on some pages but the other pages it kind of looked messy.
Overall i liked how my pages/ book came out.

The Elements of Photography

Space and Shape

This is my photo for the assignment: Elements of Photography. The assignment was to take a picture of something and incorporate 2 elements of phtography in the picture. The elements i did was space and shape. The space would be the distance between the posts and the shape would be the cylinders.I sort of don't like this picture all that much because you could barely see the space and distance between the cylinders. Also the image is crooked and the cynlinders came out to light. I feel as if i could have taken the shot at a different angle to show more, i could also maybe have taken the shot where the background won't have alot going on. Overall I think i did an okay job on this picture,

Is it Emotional?

This is my photo for my assignment, emotional. This image is suppose to portray how people tend to pull away from nature. I like this picture because i feel like it captured the concept in a good way. Although i like this picture i wanted the model to be a little blurry so that way you can actually see the motion of her pulling away from the tree. Also i could have focused the camera more. Overall i think this picture is pretty good.

Assignment 2: Stop Action and Blur

Stop Action: This image is an assignment that we had to do that was stop action. I wanted to have her kick in the air so it seems like she's flying while kicking. I like this picture because she's in the air and it sort of does look like she's floating, but i don't like it because there's too much trees in the background and a little bit of her foot is cut off. I also don't like it because of her facial expression, which is happy or she's smiling. I kind of wanted more aggression in her face.

Blur: This is my blur photo. The model in the picture is spinning and i got the shot of her in motion. I don't really like this picture because its way to blurry. I wanted her to be the only one blurry and everything in focus but it didn't really turn like the way i wanted. Also the picture don't have a lot of contrast to it meaning there's to much white around the picture. I also should have taken the shot at another angle instead of just spot on, maybe i could have gotten more on th ground. Though i do like one thing about this picture and its that you could actually tell that she's moving.

Model Release From

When a photographer takes a photo of their interest this is called freedom of expression. One example of this is when the photographer takes a picture and has a person in it. This photograph does not violate any law, therefore they do not require a model release form. However, a photographer needs a release form when they want to use a photo of a celebrity or person doing something that needs a permission to be shown.

First Assignment

This is the first photo i took for my photo 1-2 class. Our assignment was to take a picture and learn how to develop and print them ourselves. This picture i basically has trees. I tried to angle the camera in a way to show how tall the trees are. Also there's a building in the back that shows the height of the trees and building. I think that the picture came out quite good. First because it didn't come out to dark or to light. I think it came out at the right lighting. Also I printed this and it actually came out good.

Photo 1-2. Senior Year

The new work that will be following this post will be from my photo 1-2 class. The previous work was from my Digital Mixed Media class last year.

6 week grading period

During the 6 weeks of the grading period our class worked on a class assignment. Each group had a significance in this project and my role along with 4 other people made a plastic sculpture from Jiane's body. We did this by wrapping up plastic on the body part that we needed. Once we wrap up the plastic we get tape and wrap it around the plastic. When were all done with that we cut it up but we had to make sure we don't cut jiane or air she got really paranoid about that. Another thing me, Patricia, and Jiane did was think of ideas to put on the wall and we came up with the 3-D person which is what we did. Our plan is to make 2 of those, one for each side of the wall. So far we are almost done with the first one. This is what i did during the first 6 weeks of the grading period.

Portfolio

My portfolio is about buildings by Alfred Waterhouse. In my portfolio i transfered the parts of the buildings onto paper and painted different patterns to enhance the effect. It was a very challenging things too do since i'm new to it. It was fun, but it was very hard to think off how i'm going to arrange things, which color i'm going to pick and what part of the buildings im going to pick. I like how most of the final pieces turn out especially when i added the words because it made it look nice. Though some of them i didn't really like because it seemed messy. Overall working on this portfolio was really fun yet challenging.
