Final Project

 This is  my final project. Our assignment was to take a picture that connects horizontally. We were suppose to take this assignment on film which we did but our film came out blank twice :( So we were allowed to take the picture digitally. I took a picture of a statue in different angles and i really liked how these images turned out. My favorite image would be the middle images because i got the features of the lips and nose really well. The top images is really nice to because the colors and the angle came out good and the color of the black and white came out really well, Overall i like the final outcome of my final project.

Fashion Shoot

These are the pictures i took for our assignment which was a fashion shoot. Our theme was edgy. So we had her in a leather jacket with black high heels and a semi-formal dress. I really liked how both these pictures turned out because the pictures actually look like they can be found on a fashion magazine. The only thing i didn't like between this shot is that on the black and white image half of her face is dark. Also the contrast if the colors on the black and white images isn't really visable. Overall i like the images. 

Twisted Fairy Tale

 This is our story assignment. Our assignment was to create a story through images. Our story was Snow White, but we added a little twist to it at the end. In the first picture we took a regular portrait of the "stepmother" and "Snow White". The second and third picture is called "whose the fairest," where the stepmother and snow white are looking in the mirror, admiring themselves. The fourth picture is one of the mirrors that they were holding with a hooded figure in it. The fifth is the hooded figure and the sixth and final image is a hand with an apple that has fallen from the persons hands. The images i liked were the portrait because it was really clear, the picture of Snow White looking in the mirror, and the fallen apple. I really liked the fallen apple picture because it's so clear and you don't really know who died or ate the apple. The image that i didn't really like was the mirror with hooded figure because you can't really see the figure. In our story it was actually the Snow White who killed the step mother and made her eat the poison apple. I feel that our story had alot of images but i actually liked how it turned out.

Window Light Picture

This is an image of my sister for the window light assignment. I used my curtains as a background and had her sit on a chair in front of my window. I liked how this picture turned out because the lighting on her face looks really nice. It looks like a hot light is on her, but it's actually the light from the window. Overall i like the images.

Still Life

This is our second assignment after the first one: Still Life. Our tasks was to gather some objects that looked interesting and shoot it with a 4 by 5 camera. At first i didn't know what i was going to shoot, but then i saw my friend have these sheets of music that looked really old, like something that could have been used in the 1800s. I wanted to do an old theme, sort of like vintage but i didn't really have anything but old looking sheets of music. Since we had instruments in the class and i had sheet music i decided to do have a music theme. I really like the picture. I like the sheet music and how the instrument compliment the sheets of music. One thing i don't like about this is that the image is a little too dark. I would like to have the sheet music lighted and the flute have light shining on it. Overall i like how the image turned out.

Outside Portrait

In this image we were required to take an outside portrait using outdoor light. To use the outdoor light we had to use a scrim and a reflector. This image is just a regular outside image of my model just crouching on the ground with nature around her. I like this picture because of the lighting that's on her. I think the lighting hits her face really well. The things i don't like about it is the contrast of the picture and the way it looks. To me it looks a little plain, i like the background and the grass in front of her but i think that i could have had the model do something else, maybe interact with the things around her. Another thing i don't like is the way the picture came out. I feel as if it's too light. That's all i see. I would have liked the picture more if there was more dark spots and balance amount of color of black and white.
 

Self- Portrait Assignment

For our assignment we had to take a portrait that is either fine art or commercial. I decided to take a commercial. I wanted a simple image of someone just like a school photo but black and white. I had my model look simple but nice. I like and dislike my photo. First i thought it too plain once i saw it. Also the lighting in the picture/ background was kind wasn't right that when i printed the film i didn't turn out that great. I felt like i could have added something else to the picture like props or added more of he body like hands or something. Also the printing wasn't that good. The image needs more white to help balance out the picture. I used a number 4 filter but i think that i could have made the picture lighter and add more white. The one thing i liked about it is how the model looks. The lighting on her face is good and it looks nice. Overall i think i did an Ok job on this assignment.
